Morning Juice – US Session Prep

Good Morning Traders.
It is Tuesday the 28th of January. Here is what to look out for today.

Sentiment
US stock futures fluctuated following Monday’s tech-fueled selloff, paring an earlier advance as traders piled into battered chipmakers and power companies.

Nasdaq 100 contracts rose after falling 3% on Monday, while S&P 500 futures remained unchanged. Nvidia rose 4% in pre-market trading after falling 17% yesterday. Broadcom and Marvell Technologies advanced. Constellation Energy, which assists AI’s power-hungry data centres, increased 3% following yesterday’s 21% drop.

Meanwhile, the dollar strengthened against its major peers, while copper fell following Trump’s latest tariff comments to reporters on Monday night.
The US president stated that he intends to impose tariffs that are “much bigger” than 2.5% across the board.
In a speech from Florida, he also promised tariffs on specific industries, such as semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, steel, copper, and aluminium.
