Morning Juice – US Session Prep
Morning, Traders!
Sentiment
The dollar rose on Trump’s fresh warnings of tariffs on auto, medicine, and chip imports. US Treasury yields increased marginally as investors awaited the Federal Reserve’s meeting minutes later today for indications on interest rate direction and any policy implications from the incoming US government.
Europe’s equities surge came to a halt, and bonds fell further, as Trump’s latest tariff threats fuelled fears of a broader trade war.
Bank of Japan Board Member Takata stated that it is critical for authorities to continue considering modest interest rate hikes to limit inflationary risks, delivering a clear indication that further rate hikes are on the way at a time when traders are reassessing the BoJ’s rate path.
