Trump said 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico are set to go into effect on March 4th, and he plans to levy an additional 10% tax on Chinese imports, deepening his conflict with the US’ main trading partners.

Inflation in Tokyo slowed faster than predicted as government subsidies to offset energy costs distorted readings, a result that is unlikely to prevent the central bank from raising its benchmark interest rate again.

Bitcoin’s decline deepened during Asian trading hours on Friday, dropping it down 25% from its all-time high reached less than six weeks ago as traders reversed wagers placed following the election of Trump.

Japan’s banking regulator intends to crack down on $67 billion in high-yield loans backed by government bonds and other assets, which have gained popularity among regional banks despite warnings about their hazards.
