Morning Juice – US Session Prep
Morning, Traders!
It is Friday the 11th of April, here are some things to look out for today.
Sentiment
The dollar index fell to its lowest level in six months as the trade war between China and the United States escalated, while the euro rose to a three-year high. Treasury yields dipped across the curve, as traders focused on US PPI and consumer sentiment data
.
China retaliated against Trump’s recent tariffs by raising levies on all US goods, labeling the Administration’s moves a “joke” and claiming they are no longer worth matching. Following a week of violent swings in the US bond market, observers around the world are paying more attention to China’s Treasury holdings.
US Treasuries are on track for their worst weekly selloff in decades when compared to German bunds, demonstrating the extent to which President Donald Trump’s trade policies have eroded confidence in the market’s safest asset.
