Morning Juice – US Session Prep (10th June)

Sentiment
The dollar rose slightly on speculation that the US and China could soon ease trade restrictions as the world’s largest economies continue tariff discussions. Treasuries rise ahead of an auction of three-year notes later in the day.

USD/JPY rose as much as 0.5% to the day’s high of 145.29, before paring gains. The yen came under selling pressure after BoJ Governor Ueda said Japan’s price trend still has some ways to go to reach 2%.

The 10-year Treasury yield slipped 2 BPS to 4.45%, holding its modest recovery since last week’s steep selloff.

Oil ticked higher, climbing for a 4th straight day, on investor optimism around extended trade discussions between the US and China and signs of near-term tightness in the physical market.
