Morning Juice – US Session Prep (11th June)
Sentiment
The dollar firmed as traders waited on a reading of US CPI for clues on potential interest rate cuts by the Fed in the coming months. Treasury yields inched up, led by the long end, which helped to steepen the curve.
USD/JPY rose as much as 0.3% to 145.25. Chinese and US officials had struck an optimistic tone after two days of talks in London aimed at cooling trade tensions. US stock futures slipped after the Trump administration’s trade discussions with China ended with thinly detailed outcomes.
Oil wavered as the market absorbed a welter of headlines on US trade policy and negotiations with Iran.
US Treasury Secretary Bessent is expected to give details on talks later in the day
