Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland President Hammack said she wouldn’t support lowering interest rates if central bankers were making a policy decision tomorrow. Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago President Goolsbee said while some recent inflation readings have come in better than expected, he hopes one “dangerous” data point is just a blip. The pace of Japan’s consumer inflation stayed well above the Bank of Japan’s 2% target even as price growth moderated, supporting market speculation that the central bank will hike its benchmark interest rate again this year. NVIDIA has instructed component suppliers including Samsung Electronics and Amkor Technology to stop production related to the H20 AI chip, The Information reported, citing unidentified sources.
