Morning Juice – US Session Prep (9th September)
Sentiment
Treasuries fell slightly in the early US session, following similar price action in European bonds, with the US Bureau of Labor Statistics set to release preliminary benchmark revisions of payrolls statistics for the year through March at 10 AM ET time. Tuesday’s highlights include a $58 billion 3-year note auction, the first of three coupon sales this week.
Economists expect to show that US job growth in the year through March was probably far less robust than official figures currently show.
Long-dated Treasuries fell before CPI data coming on Thursday, driving the 30-year yield up 3 basis points to 4.72%, while the two-year yield moves up lbp to 3.50%, modestly steepening the yield curve.
