Yen outperformed after Japan’s growth’s Strategy Minister Minoru Kiuchi said the government is “watching currency movements, including speculative activity, with a high sense of urgency.” US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday held their first talks since agreeing to a tariff truce last month, discussing trade, Taiwan and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine Oil pushed higher as equities rose and traders weighed the prospect of a Ukraine-Russia peace deal that could deflate political risk from an already well-supplied market.
