Morning Juice – US Session Prep (12th December)

Sentiment
On a day when global indexes were aiming for new highs, U.S. stock futures were held back again by weakness in technology shares. Nasdaq 100 contracts were set to fall 0.5% at the open, with Broadcom down more than 5% in premarket trading after issuing a sales forecast that missed lofty expectations. S&P 500 futures slipped 0.1% after the index hit a record close the previous session, while U.S. blue-chip and small-cap gauges looked poised to extend their climb to new highs. The diverging performance underscores the broadening of a rally that has the U.S. benchmark on track for a third straight year of gains. For many investors, confirmation this week that the Fed’s interest-rate-cutting cycle remains intact has helped clear the way for a potential year-end rally.

Europe’s Stoxx 600 rose as much as 0.5% to a fresh high, and Asia’s main equity index traded less than 2% below its own record. In commodities, gold advanced for a fourth day and silver extended its all-time high, while oil rebounded from its lowest close in more than two months.
