Morning Juice – US Session Prep (20th January)
Sentiment
Treasuries fell, tracking a sharp selloff in Japanese government bonds, while the dollar extended losses as President Donald Trump’s latest tariff threats and push to acquire Greenland weighed on the appeal of US assets.
The 10-year Treasury yield jumped seven basis points to 4.29%, while the 30-year yield climbed nearly 10 basis points to 4.94%, its highest level since early September. A surge in Japanese government bond yields to record highs triggered broader selling across global sovereign debt markets.
