Morning Juice – US Session Prep (26th January)
Sentiment
The dollar slid to a four-month low, while the yen climbed to its strongest level since November, as traders speculated that officials may step in to support the Japanese currency.
The yen extended gains to as much as 1.5% against the dollar, with markets on heightened alert for possible intervention following its recent slide.
Gold surged past the $5,000-an-ounce mark and pushed even higher, extending a rapid rally driven by President Donald Trump’s reshaping of international relations and an investor flight from sovereign bonds and currencies.
