Stocks fell and oil advanced as markets counted down to Trump’s Tuesday evening deadline for Iran to agree to a ceasefire or face escalation.
S&P 500 futures slid 0.4%, while Europe’s Stoxx 600 erased earlier gains. WTI rose nearly 2% to $114.60 per barrel after reports the US carried out strikes on military targets on Kharg Island, a key oil export hub. The dollar slipped 0.1%.
