Stocks Hit Record Highs as Iran Talk Optimism and AI Rally Lift Markets – US Market Wrap
US stocks climbed to fresh all-time highs as investors embraced signs of progress in US-Iran negotiations and renewed enthusiasm surrounding artificial intelligence.
The S&P 500 rose toward 7,600, extending its rally with an eighth consecutive gain — its longest winning streak since May 2025. Technology stocks led the advance as AI-related optimism returned to the forefront of the market. US crude oil pared earlier gains and settled near $92 a barrel after President Donald Trump said talks with Iran are moving forward quickly and added that Israel and Hezbollah had agreed to halt attacks against one another.
Markets continued to swing on geopolitical headlines as developments in the Middle East remained fluid. Recent violence in Lebanon had threatened to derail efforts to extend the ceasefire framework between Washington and Tehran, while Iran earlier signaled it would suspend negotiations in protest of Israel’s military actions.
Despite the ongoing uncertainty, investors focused on the possibility of a diplomatic path forward, helping support risk appetite and push equities to new record levels.
