Morning Juice – US Session Prep

Morning, Traders!
It is Thursday the 18th of January, here are some things to look out for today.

Sentiment
The dollar dropped, fighting against four days of gains, and treasuries rose this morning.
The Japanese yen led the G-10 currencies, followed by the Australian dollar.
The Swiss franc steadied after it’s longest losing streak against the Dollar since December.

Yesterday, traders started pushing back on bets against Fed rate cuts this year, reducing the odds of a March rate cut to 50%.
This comes after a slew of Fedspeak this week, namely, Fed’s Waller on Tuesday, where he noted that his views are consistent with Fed policymaker projections for 3 25-bps rate cuts in 2024.
The market’s currently expect as many as 5-6 cuts this year.
