Morning Juice – Europe Session Prep

Good Morning Traders! This Thursday we get a number of small data releases.

Here is what to expect for the day.

Sentiment

The dollar has weakened versus all major currency rivals as end-of-quarter flows continue. The yen rose in response to exporter hedging demand and a Japanese official’s statement.

Japanese Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki told reporters that “one-sided moves in the foreign exchange market are not desirable, as currencies should reflect fundamentals and move in a stable manner.”

Japan’s retail sales increased in May over the previous month, as consumer demand remained stable in the face of ongoing inflation.

Asian currencies plummeted to their worst in more than 19 months as the dollar surged with the likelihood that US interest rates may stay higher for longer.
