Morning Juice – US Session Prep
Good Morning Traders.
It is Wednesday the 21st of August. Here is what to look out for today.
Sentiment
Stocks traded mixed as investors awaited an annual review of US employment data and Federal Reserve meeting minutes for more clues on interest rate cuts.
US equity futures indicated small moves at the Wall Street open, while Europe’s Stoxx 600 edged 0.2% higher on thin volumes.
The 10-year Treasury yield remained unchanged at 3.81%, while the dollar halted a three-day slide.
Anticipation is building ahead of Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s Jackson Hole speech at the end of the week, which could determine whether the market rebound continues.
As traders await Wednesday’s payroll revisions, there is concern that signs of excessive weakness will reignite fears that the Fed is behind the curve in lowering rates.
