About 200 ballistic missiles were fired by Iran on Tuesday into Israel, marking a dramatic but short-lived uptick in hostilities between the two Middle Eastern rivals. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to strike back.
Concerns have been raised about the Reserve Bank of Australia’s off-the-record briefings with market participants following reports that at least two of these talks were leaked, leading to the institutions involved being banned.
Following Iran’s firing of around 200 ballistic missiles at Israel, which prompted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to pledge reprisal and increased the risk to crude supplies, oil prices increased for a second day.
S&P Global Ratings downgraded Israel due to what it considers to be “an increasing likelihood” that the battle with Hezbollah will get more intense.
