Morning Juice – US Session Prep
Morning, Traders!
It is Tuesday 29th of October, here are some things to look out for today.
Sentiment
US equity futures were in hold mode as traders waited for the third-quarter earnings season to kick into high gear, with the first of the “Magnificent Seven” big-tech behemoths, Google parent Alphabet, set to report later today.
This week, firms accounting for nearly 42% of the S&P 500’s market capitalization will report, including five of the seven tech megacaps that have driven this year’s rally. Investors are also bracing for a slew of key economic data that will influence the Federal Reserve’s next interest rate decision, as well as the US presidential election, which is only a week away.
Treasury yields rose slightly, while the dollar index remained flat. Oil prices stabilized after falling the most in more than two years on Monday, as tensions in the Middle East eased.
Markets are bracing for the possibility of Donald Trump returning to the White House, with most major polls showing him in a close race with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Crypto companies soared, and Bitcoin surpassed $71,000 for the first time since June, as the former president is seen as a supporter of digital currencies.
