Morning Juice – US Session Prep
Morning, Traders!
It is Tuesday the 9th of July, here are some things to look out for today.
Sentiment
US stocks are poised to reach another all-time high on Tuesday as investors await Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s testimony to Congress for clues on the US interest rate outlook.
S&P 500 futures rose after the benchmark set its 35th record of the year, just as the second-quarter reporting season began. Contracts on the rate-sensitive Nasdaq 100 were also higher ahead of Powell’s speech.
Treasuries and the dollar remained steady.
Investors will be watching for any hints from the Fed chair about when policymakers will be able to cut interest rates.
A long-awaited shift towards looser policy would give investors with a record $6 trillion in money market funds an incentive to buy bonds and other assets.
