Morning Juice – US Session Prep
Good Morning Traders
It is Friday the 20th of September. Here is what to look out for today.
Sentiment
S&P 500 futures edged lower, taking a breather a day after the Federal Reserve’s bold interest-rate cut sent the underlying gauge to a fresh record high. Futures on the S&P 500 were down by 0.2%, while those tracking the Nasdaq 100 declined over 0.3%. Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average were little-changed. The biggest tech stocks led the market’s risk-on rally on Thursday after the Fed started its rate-cut cycle with a 50-basis-point reduction, raising hopes that the US economy could avoid slipping into a recession. Subdued jobless claims data signaled resilience in the labor market.
